Each module is discrete and requires up to eight hours. The Detection of Deception, Strategic Interviewing and Interrogation modules are presented sequentially, as each builds from the preceding module, and ideally should be taught over two to three consecutive days. Although the ideal class size is 20 to 25, the sessions can accommodate up to 40.

Detection of Deception
Learn how to detect deceptive behavior and uncover potential issues which require further questioning. There are very recognizable and easily learned verbal and non-verbal signals that are common to deceptive people in every culture. These signals have been validated world-wide by our highly trained and experienced instructors. Participants will have the opportunity to observe these signals first-hand through videos of actual interviews. Previous classes have increased their accuracy in identifying deceptive behavior, as measured by an in-class exercise, from 10% to over 90%.

Strategic Interviewing
Develop better interviewing skills by learning how to devise an interview strategy to maximize information collection, improve question formulation and interview logistics, probe into sensitive issues in a non-confrontational manner and effectively handle reluctant and uncooperative subjects.

Interrogation
Learn how to elicit information, admissions, and confessions from untruthful or uncooperative subjects, and how to recognize and overcome tools and weapons used by a deceptive person in their efforts to defeat the interview/interrogation process. The training that III provides on interrogation has proven to be more effective than other traditional methods and is now widely employed in both law enforcement and intelligence agencies. The techniques also lend themselves to both initial and follow-up interviews as well as all forms of legal proceedings.

Practice and Simulation
III provides its participants the opportunity to further hone their skills through simulation exercises. The simulation exercises challenge the participant to use the skills they have learned in previous sessions in a live environment and give them the opportunity to ask questions of and get coaching from III’s experts.

Further customization is available to meet specific training objectives.
